outreach

In addition to helping facilitate adoptions at the Jackson County Animal Shelter, Friends of the Animal Shelter supports several Community Outreach programs and events. Held primarily on weekends, these events introduce FOTAS and the Jackson County Animal Shelter to the public in a positive way. When possible, shelter animals accompany volunteers to these events to serve as ambassadors, to attract attention, and to interest the public in adoptions. Volunteers offer materials, such as FOTAS and SNYP brochures, foster family flyers, the Scoop newsletter, and special event flyers.
