|

Join the FOTAS DOG Foster Teams on Saturday, December 14 for a Fantastic Foster Dog and Puppy  Extravaganza!

Thanks to Black Bird, in Phoenix, OR we are able to showcase our foster dogs and puppies, all ready for adoption.

It’s an open house where you can meet and greet with some very special dogs and puppies….all lovingly cared for by foster parents.

Visiting with the animals and the foster team is a fantastic way find out all about these wonderful dogs and puppies before adoption.  These animals have received lots of love and attention and are now ready for their forever home.  FOTAS performs in home visits before adoptions are complete, but people will be able to fill out applications and put holds on any dogs they like.

Adopting a foster dog can be a good choice for a number of reasons, including:

  • Better transition to home life: Many shelter animals can be stressed and anxious. Fostering helps them adjust to a home environment, making the transition into a new home easier for all.

  • More one-on-one attention: Dogs and kittens in foster care receive more attention than they might in a crowded shelter. This helps the animal decompress and let their wonderful real personality come out.

  • Better behavior: Dogs and cats in foster care show significant improvements in behavior, such as being more playful, friendly, and confident.
animals they are caring for. This helps provide a great jumpstart for the new people adopting a foster pet. Finding the best fit for everyone, dog and/or cat  included, makes for a great adoption!

  • Free up space in the shelter: FOTAS fosters those Shelter dogs that are having the hardest time in the Shelter. Fostering helps frees up space in the Shelter for another dog in need.  (All kittens are rescued and raised in loving foster homes until adoption.)
