Meet Collette!

AGE: Colette is a sweet, 9-year-old, engagingly social, ginger and white shorthair kitty, who is a real charmer.

PERSONALITY: She is long-limbed and lively (possibly a dancer in her former life?). She is an affectionate girl who loves attention and is happy to reward you with head butts and purrs.

HIGHLIGHTS: If you are looking for a loving kitty with a heart of gold who will make each day a bit brighter, then Colette is your girl!

AVAILABLE: At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S Pacific Hwy, Phoenix.  Open 11am to 4 pm Tuesday through Friday, and noon to 4pm weekends.

COST: Collette’s adoption fee is only $50, and includes a free wellness visit at a local veterinarian office. Collette is spayed.

Meet Gucci!

AGE: Gucci is a fun, active girl, who is about 2 years old and weighs 50 pounds. She’s a playful, curious pup who will do best in a home with a large well-fenced yard, since she loves exploring and, if left unattended, may go check out the neighborhood on her own. She has done well with other friendly dogs, who enjoy romping and wrestling, like her, but her play style can be a bit much for calmer dogs.

PERSONALITY: This friendly girl is currently in foster care, where she’s learning better manners when meeting new people, because she likes to jump up and kiss faces. Because she’s a strong and determined dog, she would do best in a home with older children or one without children and should meet all family members prior to adoption. Although Gucci is smart and a quick learner, she gets bored easily and her curiosity can get her into trouble. Fortunately, she’s crate-trained, housetrained, takes treats gently, and wants to please.

HIGHLIGHTS: Once she gets some exercise, she will settle down and can be quite affectionate. She recently re-injured a back leg, which has a luxating patella, but it hasn’t slowed her down. She still loves to run, likes going for walks, and is learning not to pull so hard on the leash. To prevent arthritis from setting in to her injured leg, she’s on a daily regimen of glucosamine and anti-inflammatory medication.

AVAILABLE: At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S Pacific Hwy, Phoenix.  Open 11am to 4 pm Tuesday through Friday, and noon to 4pm weekends. Contact her foster mom, Barbara, at 541-890-2308, or call the Jackson County Animal Shelter at 541-774-6654

COST: Gucci’s adoption fee has been prepaid by a generous donor, and includes a free one-hour in-home training, plus a wellness visit at a local veterinarian office. Gucci is spayed.

Meet Bella!

AGE: Bella is an appealing 2-year-old brown Tabby and Tortie girl. She has been at the shelter for three months and is SO ready to find her real home.

PERSONALITY: Bella was pretty timid at first because everything was new and she was scared. Now though, after discovering that the people she sees every day really care about her, she has become more social and open to petting.

HIGHLIGHTS: She enjoyed having a little girl read to her at the shelter’s “Read to a Kitty” day, and she LOVES playing with wand toys! Bella likes to be approached slowly, and so far she’s not much of a lap cat, but that could change with cat-savvy people in a new home where she is given lots of time to adjust. If you have a loving quiet home for beautiful Bella, she might just blossom into your new best friend.

AVAILABLE: At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S Pacific Hwy, Phoenix.  Open 11am to 4 pm Tuesday through Friday, and noon to 4pm weekends.

COST: Bella’s adoption fee is only $50, and includes a free wellness visit at a local veterinarian office. Bella is spayed.

Meet Sebastian!

AGE: Sebastian is a 3-year-old plush handsome black kitty who was surrendered after his owner died.

PERSONALITY: He was originally bewildered in his new surroundings, but now is coming forward for affection and regaining confidence. He steps out of his kennel when all is quiet, and loves to be petted around the neck and chin. It is heartening to see how he is beginning to trust again.

HIGHLIGHTS: Sebastian has lived indoors only and, undoubtedly, his sweet nature will blossom once he is nestled in a quiet home with patient owners. Probably a home without children or dogs would suit him best.

AVAILABLE: At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S Pacific Hwy, Phoenix.  Open 11am to 4 pm Tuesday through Friday, and noon to 4pm weekends.

COST: Sebastian’s adoption fee is only $50, and includes a free wellness visit at a local veterinarian office. Sebastian is neutered.

Meet Ripley!

AGE: Ripley is a handsome, 11-year-old Bernese Mountain mix who was surrendered because his owners could not take him with them when they moved.

PERSONALITY: Ripley is a friendly, out-going boy who enjoys both play and cuddle time.  He has lived with other dogs and cats, but is possessive about his food and treats.

HIGHLIGHTS: Ripley takes treats gently, is house-trained and well-mannered … he would love to go home with you live out the rest of his golden years.

AVAILABLE: At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S Pacific Hwy, Phoenix.  Open 11am to 4 pm Tuesday through Friday, and noon to 4pm weekends.

COST: Ripley’s adoption fee is only $75, and includes a free one-hour in-home training and a wellness visit at a local veterinarian office. Ripley is neutered.
