Spay/Neuter Grant Request Guidelines and Eligibility
Friends of the Animal Shelter has a deep commitment to ensuring as many dogs and cats in our community are spayed/neutered in order to address the pet overpopulation crisis. In an effort to assist other animal welfare organizations in Southern Oregon, FOTAS invites our community partners to apply for grant funding to help cover their costs associated with spaying/neutering dogs and cats in their care.
Eligibility and Guidelines
- Must be a tax exempt 501c3 Nonprofit organization or an Animal Rescue Entity licensed by the State of Oregon, and located in Jackson County, OR; no grants to individuals will be made
- Funds may only be used for spay/neuter surgery and recovery costs; animals may not be owned animals
- Organizations must have an annual budget of less than $500,000
- Organizations must submit the provided final report detailing the number, type, and gender of animals altered to be considered for future funding within 12 months of receiving funds. While receipts are not required, you may be audited.
- Applicants are not eligible for future funding until final report has been submitted.
How to apply:
Fill out and submit application and include the following attachments:
- List of current board members (if applicable)
- Tax Determination letter and/or Oregon Dept. of Agriculture Animal Rescue Entity certificate
- Current year budget
- Previous year’s 990 form
- Previous year spay/neuter surgery statistics, which includes number, species, and gender breakdown of animals
