May 28, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us Saturday through Sunday, May 28-29, Noon to 4pm, when adoption fees for all pit bull type dogs will be reduced to just $50, a 66% discount from the regular $150 fee.

No appointment is needed, walk-ins are welcome!

All have been screened for temperament and health issues and determined to be adoptable companions. Most of these dogs are estimated to be less than 3 years old. All have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, received flea treatment, and are up-to-date in shots. A collar and leash are included for each dog.

If you have been considering adopting a pit bull type dog, now is the perfect time.

Our goal is to place as many of these dogs as possible into caring homes to free up space for incoming dogs needing new homes. This will be the Jackson County’s second reduced fee adoption event for dogs and the first one specifically focused on pit bulls.

During this 2-day event, adopting families will go through the same standard adoption process they would if applying at other times, which includes an application and screening requirements. In addition to the $50 adoption fee, adopters who live in Jackson County will also be responsible for paying $25 for an annual dog license.

This event is made possible by Friends of the Animal Shelter, which will pay the discount for every reduced-fee dog adopted this weekend and provides the volunteers needed to hold this event.
