We need your crafts!

We are inviting Elves of all ages to contribute 5 – 10 new homemade items to our Deck the Paws Holiday Fair on December 7th at the Phoenix Civic Center.

Creative people like you are busily creating animal-themed gifts for us to sell at the Fair. What could you make with animal-print fabric? How about wine bottle covers? Fleece blankets for kitty and doggie beds? Catnip toys? Like to draw? How about unique greeting cards?

We’re hoping to gather up 1,000 items to raise funds to save more animals at the Shelter.

Oh, and as an added bonus, when you donate items, you’ll receive “Doggy Dollar/Kitty Kash” to spend at the Fair.

Friend us on our FOTAS Elves Facebook page.

Send Laura, the event coordinator, an email for more details and to let her know what you’ll be making!

Drop off news:

Drop off your hand-crafted donations at the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S Pacific Hwy, Phoenix, or at one of the scheduled Drop-Off Days at Phoenix Library, 510 W 1st St. on Monday, December 2 and Thursday, December 5, 1-5PM.

PLANNING YOUR HOLIDAY PORTRAIT with Santa Paws or Cat-Elf?

Here are the details about how your holiday photo opportunities:

  • Santa Paws and Cat-Elf are FOTAS volunteers in handmade costumes. Unlike the models above, their faces will not actually be covered (that may frighten a pet).  Whether or not a costumed character is in your photo is up to you.
  • You do not need to bring a pet to get a portrait. We are happy to photograph individual children or adults, couples or families.
  • All pets must be securely under the direct physical control of their owner at all times. Leashes on dogs are mandatory.  Pets are allowed inside in only the photography area; you will need to return them to your vehicle or make other arrangements while you shop and eat lunch.
  • A sitting costs $10 and includes a 5×7” matted glossy print and access to the electronic files of all photos (minimum of 5) taken.  Additional matted prints are $5.
  • Costume items – bow ties, angel wings, holiday bandanas –will be available to purchase to dress up your pet.
  • Your electronic files can be used for custom digital products like gallery wraps. Order these from our event sponsor Pronto Print, and FOTAS will receive 10%!  Samples of these perfect gift ideas will be on display at both the Ashland and Medford Pronto Print locations.

PRONTO PRINT

One of our event sponsors, Pronto Print, is offering to donate 10% of every order of customized merchandise, such as canvas wraps of your favorite photos or digitally-printed coffee mugs. Or maybe something you’ll give the items to us for the Fair! Just tell Pronto Print that you want the 10%-to-FOTAS deal.

Great unique gifts for birthdays, Mother’s and Father’s Day AND a generous donation for our shelter animals.

Locations: 9 E 4th Street, Medford, and 1700 Ashland Street, Ashland.
