Fire-Foster

Due to the fires in our region, many stray animals have been brought to the temporary location for the Jackson County Animal Shelter.

To keep them safe, Friends of the Animal Shelter Foster Program is providing temporary homes while we work to reunite pets with their families.

Listed below are animals currently needing foster care.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must have a fenced yard … these dogs are scared and will try to find their homes, so it’s important to keep them safe and contained!
  • You must live in Jackson County, as these are animals under the care of Jackson County Animal Services.

** DO NOT GO TO THE EXPO TO PICK UP A FOSTER DOG UNTIL YOU HAVE SPOKEN WITH MICHELLE, THE FOSTER COORDINATOR **

IFORMATION WE NEED FROM YOU:

Email the following information to Michelle at micjofox@gmail.com, the Friends of the Animal Shelter Foster Coordinator:

  1. Your full name and cell phone number.
  2. Which animal are you interested in? Please put the BREED in the Subject line.
  3. Do you have a fenced yard?  If yes, what is the LOWEST height.  For instance, two sides are 6′ and two sides are 4′, so you would tell us the fence is 4′.
  4. Do you have children?  If yes, please provide the ages.
  5. Do you have other pets/livestock?  If yes, please describe.  For instance, “I have a 3-year-old neutered male heeler, 3 indoor cats, 5 chickens and a ferret.”
