Friends of the Animals, helping our community
The wagging tail of a rescued dog finding their forever home. The contented purr of a cat finally feeling safe and loved. These moments of joy happen every day at Friends of the Animals, thanks to compassionate people like you who believe every animal deserves a chance at happiness.
For over 30 years, our work in Southern Oregon has transformed countless lives – both human and animal. As you’ve witnessed the challenges facing vulnerable animals in our community, you may have wondered how you can create an even greater impact that extends beyond today.
Your love for animals can create a lasting legacy. Through planned giving, you can ensure that future generations of pets will find loving homes, receive vital medical care, and experience the kindness they deserve – all without affecting your current finances.
Here are meaningful ways you can help:
Create a Legacy: Join our Legacy Society of animal advocates who have included Friends of the Animals in their will. Your planned gift can provide ongoing support for our life-saving programs without costing anything today.
Give Smarter: Consider tax-efficient options like:
- Donations from your IRA
- Appreciated stock transfers
- Gifts through your donor-advised fund
- Adding FOTAS to your will (Click here for the steps)
These options can offer tax advantages while making a significant impact on animals in need.
FOTAS provides key services to the animals and their owners in our community. From our spay/neuter services, low-cost vaccination/microchip clinics, cat and dog foster programs, to our continued enrichment at the shelter- we continue to seek ways to expand and serve our community. All these programs you can help sustain through planned giving.
Your gift will ensure that Friends of the Animals can continue to:
- Provide emergency medical care for injured and sick animals at the shelter
- Support our foster network socializing animals and getting them out of the shelter becoming more adoptable
- Provide enrichment with our 200+ shelter volunteers who walk, train, and love the dogs who otherwise are in cages
- Continue our community education initiatives to create a healthy pet population
- Support us offering monthly community low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics
- Subsidize Spay/Neuter surgeries at our Community Clinic that provides low-cost surgeries for those in financial need to prevent unplanned litters
