Friends of the Animal Shelter Wish List

Donations may be dropped off INSIDE the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S Pacific Hwy, Phoenix, Tuesday – Sunday, Noon to 4:00 PM. The Shelter is closed to the public on Mondays and holidays.

Please do NOT leave items outside. Thank you! 

  • Bedding for the animals

    • Cat beds/pads (washable, kennel size)
    • Disposable pee pads
    • For dogs, the Shelter provides heavy-duty bedding that can be easily sanitized, so cannot accept stuffed beds.

    Collars and Leashes for dogs

    • Dog collars (new or like new; large preferred)
    • Dog leashes (new or like new)
    • Martingale-style collars for dogs (pink, large, new)
    • Weiss Walkie leashes (pink, large, new)

    Crates and carriers

    • Plastic/hard-sided and wire dog crates – large (not broken)
    • Plastic/hard-sided and wire cat carriers (not broken)

    Enrichment for the animals

    • Hot dogs, string cheese, canned pumpkin
    • Treats (variety) for cats and dogs
    • Extreme Kong toys (XXL, black)
    • Ground canned dog food for stuffing Kong toys
    • Jolly balls/Jumbler balls for dogs
    • Cat toys (new)

    In order to ensure the best quality of care and a consistent diet, the Shelter is purchasing the food needed for the animals. 

Each of the supplies above go to directly help the animals. Any support you can give makes a difference.

Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS) is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1990 to support the programs of the Jackson County Animal Shelter. Our vision is for all adoptable animals at the Jackson Country Animal Shelter to find a loving home. Our mission is to recruit and train volunteers who will save lives by increasing pet adoptions at the Jackson Country Animal Shelter, improve the quality of life for the Shelter’s animals, promote spay and neuter, and facilitate outreach and educational activities about the humane treatment of companion animals throughout Jackson County. Our values are: Service, Compassion and Generosity.
