Cat Foster Program

What it Means to be a Friends of the Animals Cat Foster Volunteer
Fostering saves lives, and Friends of the Animals is always in need of new foster families for cats and kittens.
You can provide a “home-between-homes” for kittens that are too young to spay/neuter, and adult cats that, through no fault of their own, need to find a new, loving home.
We provide supplies, training, and plenty of support, and we take care of finding them new homes.
Requests for fostering are emailed to foster families with a description of the kitties, and then you raise your hand when it is convenient for you and your family to foster.
Foster homes can already have cats and dogs. Sometimes homes with kids are fabulous, and sometimes a quieter environment is better. It all depends on the animals’ needs.
This is a wonderful and personal way to help save homeless pets.

Other Volunteer Opportunities in the Cat Foster Program
Feline Fair Support
FOTAS holds Feline Adoption Fairs where we come together with other cat welfare organizations to get rescued kittens and cats adopted. We need volunteers for set-up, during the event, and clean up. This is a rewarding opportunity to help save dozens of kittens and cats all in one day.
Our Cat Foster program is making a difference!
FOTAS partners with other feline-rescue nonprofit organizations in our community to help an even greater number of cats/kittens by providing these organizations with foster families and medical and spay/neuter support.
FOTAS’s cat program now includes monthly adoption events coordinated with the other cat rescue groups. With five organizations participating, we have been averaging 30-50 cats and kittens at each monthly event.
For updates on these monthly events, please visit the FOTAS Feline Fair page.
