We are temporarily suspending foster applications due to COVID-19 distancing restrictions. We appreciate your interest, and ask that you check back in Spring 2021.
If you would like to be considered to become a Friends of the Animal Shelter and Jackson County Animal Shelter Foster Family, you need to submit an application.
The online application will be uploaded when we begin taking applications again. Thank you for your interest and please check back in September.

FIRST SAVE THIS FORM TO YOUR DESKTOP. Use the option “SAVE AS” and rename the form using your last name. Complete the form and then save it again. Open the form before emailing to confirm it saved correctly.

- Or, submit the filled-out application via postal mail, the address is on the application.
- Once we receive your application, you will receive a call and/or email from the FOTAS Foster Coordinator.
- Please remember that all dogs in your household must have a current rabies vaccination and Jackson County animal license. For more information about licensing your dog, please visit the Jackson County Animal Services website.
The Shelter offers monthly Low-Cost Vaccinations on the 3rd Saturday of every month, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, including rabies, and you can license your dog the same day. Licenses are available from any veterinarian office in Jackson County as well. NOTE: Vaccinations clinics are canceled until further notice due to the COVID-19 crisis.
