DOG OPEN HOUSE! | EVERY Saturday and Sunday afternoon
Visitations with adoptable animals is generally “by appointment only” to minimize the number of people in the Shelter at any given time. This helps protect the Shelter staff, Friends of the Animal Shelter volunteers, and potential adopters – allowing for COVID protocols to be carried out. It also ensures that an Adoption Counselor will be available to show you around and have you meet adoptable animals.
Currently, to visit dogs on the weekend, you can now stop by without an appointment, Noon – 4:00 pm.
Appointments are not required during these hours, but to help control the number of people in the kennels, visitors are asked to check-in at the Front Office upon arrival. Appointments to meet adoptable dogs Tuesday through Friday ARE STILL REQUIRED.
You still need an appointment to visit with cats.
Jackson County is still under COVID restrictions, so the Animal Shelter will continue to embrace social distancing and safety measures, including the requirement that MASKS MUST BE WORN inside the Shelter’s facility.
To make an appointment, first browse adoptable animals online at fotas.org/adopt. Then call (541) 774-6654 and select Option 7 to be connected with a Shelter staff person.
